Welcome

Welcome to the website for St George’s, Stockport and St Gabriel’s, Adswood. We are two friendly churches in the parish of St George’s, Heaviley. The parish covers the areas of Heaviley, Davenport and North Bramhall in Stockport. St George’s was built in 1897 to serve the expanding town of Stockport whilst St Gabriel’s was built in 1936 as a mission church to serve the people on the new estates in Adswood.

This website tells you something about who we are, what we do and when we do it.

We welcome people here from all over the world, so no matter where you’ve come from, we hope you can find a home here – even if it’s just for today.

We know it can be difficult to follow what’s going on in the service today if English isn’t your first language, so don’t worry if you feel a little lost. Even if you can’t understand what’s being said, God is still working in you and through you, just by you being here today.

We may be able to provide you with a service booklet and Holy Bible in your own language – please ask someone if you would like one.
